In the show ~A Fierce Green Fire it shows some of the largest movement in history. The 1920's and the 21 century. .Connecting all the major parts of environmentalism was a huge part of american history, the more people knew about it the more improvement was done.  Conservation of our planet also made it into peoples mind. This movie shows that many eyes were caught of peoples eyes. The more people know about this the more people will understand the problems that can become of the world.  People wanted a change and it was happening, saving their homes from fires, protecting everything around them as well. We still do this, which shows the events in the past carried on.  An exploration of the environmental movement and global activism showing fifty years of climate change. From people doing this it helped us out to where we are now, i feel as if this show showed me how serious people took global changes more serious than others. Nowadays more people actually celebrate , parading around the streets having a good time. There are now more people that are super involved in the global enviorment. There are many jobs that became of this as well. Public works has people who check your houses for to much gas being released, there are also many people that go around to the streets and just pick up trash as well. Environmental realizations are very important in the world in general.

Every day especially in other countries, people are killing whales. The whales them self don't have much human accessible meat to eat but the fact in general their are more killings than safe. If we don't want our whales to be extinct than we need to stop. Hunting them has became a serious problem and it kills me on the inside knowing they are dying left and right for now real reason.

Seabiscuit : An all american legend

Everyone has a soft spot for an object. Charles Howard has one for a race horse called sea biscuit. Charles does whatever it takes to support sea biscuit , by running a shop to trying to figure out his next move was always on charles mind. In 1906 there was an earthquake most wont forgeet. In san fransico the 7.8 earth quake kills hundreds, injuries thousands of civilians , destroys towns and cause major fires that couldn't be contained.Could you imagine what would be going through your head of the time of this catastrophe? When tom smith comes into the picture, the lives of an average man and horse change. Mr. Irwan notices the man who goes from job to job and he resizes the potentially this man as a whole. He soon makes himthe trainer. Irwin's a very wealthily man who  happens to own a racing station. When Irwan died , mr. Smith is in a cruddy situation. He has lost a job and must go look for work. There were many horses along the way to sea biscuits success. The more work and time that they put into sea biscuit was worth a life time.
The guys decided to unleash the beast and show their secret to everyone. The people of world knew about seabuscit. He became quiet  a celebrity if youaskme. The more people heard about him the more the publicity came. The men soon were overwhelmed with the attention of the horse and in my opinion so was sea b . Items in honor of the horse were soon be ing produced all in sea biscuits name. The love for the horse kept growing and growing. The american dream relates to this because se biscuit came fromnothing. He rose to the top and caused his owner riches that im sure he could never have had imagined a few months ago. All in all the legend of sea biscuit reallwas a true store. The 1900's needed some action and sea biscuit brought it to them .

    depression outline

II Causes (The causes of the great depression were ___bank failures_____, ____stock market failure___, _____reduction products decreasing ___)
A overspeculation-engagement in business transactions involving considerable risk but offering the chance of largegains, especially trading in commodities, stocks, etc., in the hope of profit from changes in themarket price.
B Govt Policy- political plans, intentions and activities all relating to a cause. The government had the people always wondering what would be happening to the nation as a whole. Saying tat everyone walked on egg shells to get stuff done and to always have money to support their families.
C Unstable Econ- not a steady pay, that caused much of the majority of the civilians to stress about not having eough money, also they didn't have $ for food to feed their families.
1 uneven prosperity - not all people in the 20s were "roaring"; African Americans, farmers, and immigrants all faced some difficult times
2 overproduction - making too much of a product when everyone already  has it. ( no more needed) Everyone already had everything they needed the more things that are produced the more the less people need it so all the products are just being wasted which is costing the company more money than they have.
3 worker issues / farm issues - people didn't have money to support their businesses, SAYING THAT MANY BUSINESSES STOPED WORKING AND THEN THEY WOULDN'T HAVE money for anything. No one had money for goods let alone goods in general.
    III Effects
A Poverty- not having what you need to survive / became more and more
B Society - the people in our  generations, society became more and more relaxed
C World- more people less jobs, countries started more alliances
IV Solutions - more factory jobs( That would give more people money to support which would mean less money coming from the government.)
A Hoover- built hoover damn, changed peoples life's in a more affective way. the more people on hoovers side the better it would turn out for everyone in the long run
1 Volunteerism- people who volunteered to be in the war or to work for a living, many people volunteered because normal life just wasn't working for eveyone. the amount of volunteers would so fill up the charts and make americas army stronger than ever.
2 Public Works- government owned buildings, more jobs. public works became government buildings making them have more jobs for civilians and saying that more people were willing to work . They never had a a open spot because the fact everyone wanted the jobs. The more jobs the more money that would freely float around.
3 Hawley Smoot- 1930) that raised import duties to protect American businesses and farmers, adding considerable strain to the international economic climate of the great depression
    4 RFC
B Roosevelt - president, took over hoover. when hoover lost The Citizens were looking out for the  best, they wanted an uprising for the life of a citizen in general.
1 new deal- Public Works Administration Project,  To prime the pump and cut unemployment
    a alphabet soup
example-ccc Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) was a public work relief program that operated from 1933 to 1942 in the United States for unemployed, unmarried men. Helped out families who didnt have the money and needed the support
example- cwa ~ communication workers of america. They helped out the people by having evberyone on the same page of things
example -aaa ~ helped out american farmers by always having them have their money for crops. America needed the money so that people could still have their food.
example-nra ~ National Rifle Association of America (NRA) is an American nonprofit organization whose primary mission is "[to] protect and defend the united states as a whole.
b Criticsim? - Although not everyone was happy they still had their rights to speak up.

    2 2nd new deal
    a-1934 Indian Reorganization Act (IRA)
    b-United States Housing Authority (USHA)
c-Second Agricultural Adjustment Act Fair Labor Standards Act
V Criticism - Everyone had what they needed to be settled with their family, there was more jobs, more money going around as well
B Political Criticism (ex. Came from both the _______Democrats_____ and ____republicans_)
A Conservatives~ believe in personal responsibility, limited government, free markets, individual liberty, traditional American values and a strong national defense.

B Liberals (ex: criticised the new deal also. They....)
Ex- freedom of speech- showed Americans the way they could speak about opinions. America today has the right of freedom of speech. This came from the constitution of the united states.
ex- freedom of press- let press be the ones to release certain information to the world. Many Americans need freedom of press. I am sure many celebrates dpont appreciate it but the way the world works is all involved in freedom of press.
VI Effectiveness- this made America feel welcomed to be who they wanted and say what they wanted.
A Changes in US - financial- people lost jobs, didn't have money to support , economical - the u.s had no money floating around
B Unions- people who believe in the same things, work the same places, a group
C Culture- culture is becoming more and more apart of peoples lives , Culture is still a big part of americans lves today. The more people think of their beliefs the more people are loyal to their thoughts. We as americans have the right to our own culture choices. Although everyone has their own views everyone has a culture weather they know it or not
VII Conclusion- the depression was one of the hardest times in American history,no jobs no money. America has greatly improved since the out break of war. Jobs , housing, and all the necessaries to be a successful human all would be justified to the working field.

    winnie the pooh

During the first World War soldiers from Winnipeg were being deported to Canada, when adventuring to Europe, where they were to join Infantry Brigade. When the train the soldiers were being transported on stopped in ontario, lieutenant Harry Colebourn bought a black cub bear for 20$ from the hunter who had killed the cubs mother. He named it "winnipeg" after his hometown, They called the cub "Winnie" for short. He traveled along with the soldiers and soon became the mascot of the group. Colebourn then loaned winne out to the london zoo so he could continue his travels. He wanted to go to war and come back to get Winnie when he returned. But as he thought the war would be a fast one he was wrong. Upon return Clebourne realized how happy Winnie was in he new home and decided to let her live the rest of her beautiful life there in the zoo. Winnie got to be very popular at the zoo. Along with Christopher Robin. ( winnie was his favorite zoo animal " He  spent hours on end inside the cage with Winnie. The bear was Christopher Robin's inspiration for calling his own small yellow teddy bear Winnie. ( Winnie the pooh ).

Letter From the battlefield ~ nurse

    Dear family,
When I chose to become a nurse for this battle, I didn't think that it would be this horrific. Dirty, dying men are coming in one after another.  Patients dont always come in an ambulance. Walking and street cars are used as assistance.  The war has gotten bloodier and bloodier. The wounds im seeing are getting worse and the men aren't healing.
Theres more than 12,000 of us helping out in this war. My good friend got a wound from the war but she's healing perfectly. Hearing gun shot after gun shot is alerting but you get used to it. We see different situations everyday but  the trenches the men are in makes it harder for the wounds to stay sanitary. Illness, wounds , death, self inflected wounds, shell shock are all the daily things i see.
My head is so drained from me staying awake for so long. Our feet on the other hand have sores so I cant keep on my feet at the end of the day. The day i come home will be so relieving. How is everything? Sorry it took me so long to write you back, ive been so slammed with pacients.  I miss you guys and think about you everyday. My love goes out to all of our family and friends. Love you xoxo S

4 Main causes of ww 1.

    M ~MILITARISM

    A~ALLIANCES
     I~IMPERIALISM

    N ~NATIONALISM

The four main causes of World War one was : militarism, alliances, imperialism, and lastly nationalism. The first cause of the war was militarism.England had a large navy, so Germany wanted a larger and more disciplined navy. Germany and France competed to build larger armies. The more nations that created the stronger armies, which caused “universal conscription”. Between 1870 and 1914, all nations except Great Britain and the United States, doubled the size of their armies in preparation for a wold that hasn't started. Alliances then formed between many nations. Europe has been building alliance for the past twenty years. The danger with alliances were that an argument between two countries could draw all the other nations allied with them into a fight or a war could outbreak. Imperialism gathered nations together and caused conflict. And lastly nationalism, many people believed their countries were more superior then others, which also caused conflict.

    alvin york

"The 82nd Division was known as the All-American Division." ~ Alvin York
Alvin York wasn't like a typical candidate you would expect to be one of the most honored war heroes. When Alvin was younger,  he would plow fields, hunt for his family and occasionally get a little wild at the saloon with some whisky. Getting hit on the head with a bottle was a normal thing at the bars for Alvin . York's partying lifestyle came to a end when his best friend was killed during a fight. He became a hard core christian and swore never to fight again. York was drafted into the 82nd placement and  shipped the French countryside. France was when York got his part in fame. Alvin was  in the Argonne forest against the Germans. He was in the machine gun position. York was charged by 17 Germans , but york killed all with his own pistol. York with the help of a German major that york captured earlier, brought in 132 German prisoners. Alvin york was rewarded with the metal of Honor and a lavish farm back home. People really looked up to york. The soldiers were surrounded with dead bodes of the friends they had made and the mustered gas was outrageous. The railroad helped out the soldiers a lot,and brought them their needed supplies .
